Love Quilting Love

For Margie
My sister Margie loves to quilt.
Leftover insignificant pieces and scraps
Take on new shape in her hands—
A few stitches, a little thread, busy fingers.
Creativity peacefully planning pretty patterns,
Precious memories sewn together
Pieces of days gone by,
Patches of this and scraps of that.
New life springs up stitched in love
Homemade and homegrown, hand sewn—
Pieced together thoughts and wishes
Sewn in love by caring hands.
Quilts by Margie touch your life.
I have one such quilt I treasure
Quilted in love by a giving heart
And given to me by the same grace.
Margie values the simple things
And her love is sewn into every quilt.
My sister gives from the heart
A warm and loving work of art.
