I Know Your Face by Heart
by Cheryl J. Howell

Your eyes now seem so clear,
Looking in my mind's eye.
And too, your lovely smile,
If I should really try
To picture its sweetness
In a warm smile's reply.
I know your lovely face
From its forehead to chin,
And all the pleasing lines
That softly lie within,
Where your sweet little ways
Tend to soften your skin.
I know your face by heart.
Now whenever I look
Back in our memories,
Reflected in a brook,
Your expressions are read
As one might read a book.
